Frank Roche Appreciation Piece

Arlington Public News recently caught up with Arlington High School senior and standout athlete Frank Roche. Roche was selected as the recipient of the “MIAA Student Athlete of the Month Award” for May 2015. The award is given monthly to a male and female student-athlete who display excellence in the areas of academics, athletics and community service.

Roche is not only a member of the football, basketball and baseball teams, but serves as team captain in all three sports. As a member of the Arlington High School Captains Council, Roche contributes to many school pride and spirit-building initiatives. Arlington High School Athletic Director Melissa Dlugolecki says, “Frank sets the standard for high school athletes through his commitment to all three of his varsity sports.”

However, Roche’s activities extend far beyond sports. Roche serves as President of the Arlington High School Student Council, and is also a member of the National Honor Society, Peer Leaders, and the 84 Club, a group committed to ending smoking and tobacco use. On top of his athletic and academic accomplishments, Roche was the recipient of the Arlington High School Citizenship Award and SILS Award for his outstanding commitment to community service.

After a sterling four years at Arlington High School, Roche will attend Tufts University in the fall, where he will play football for the Jumbos.
