Fall into Winter at ACMi Sports

As the Fall sports season draws to a close, we would like to share the latest news from this important realm of ACMi programming. The sudden departure of our Sports Producer in early September had a clear impact on our ability to cover fall sports in the comprehensive way we (and perhaps you too) have become accustomed.

Various staff members stepped forward to help, as did a hardy and devoted cadre of parents, and together we were able to cover a majority of the soccer games that took place. And our excellent high school production group took charge of home football games, providing quality coverage for an engaged audience, and further honing their own skills as a production team.

The Winter sports season is fast approaching, and we can’t wait to turn this fall’s experience – and a fabulous new sports production set in the Red Gym at the high school – into knockout coverage of hockey, basketball, and other winter sports! We have assembled a stunning sports set that will allow us to integrate a Sports Center-like format into our high school coverage.

To help us do this, ACMi is actively seeking students and/or family members to join our production teams. We will provide all the necessary training and a warm and supportive work environment, and YOU can join with peers to create first-class content, and have an absolute blast doing so!

If you’d like to learn how to operate a camera, provide commentary or conduct a sideline interview, present real-time stats and graphics, direct a live production, and much more, just reach out to us at sports@acmi.tv, and we’ll take it from there! Over time, you might even be able to describe yourself as a Sports Producer, like our young friend Nick Antonakas.

Nick began working with ACMi Sports as an AHS student a few years back, and is currently a Sports Communications major at Emerson College. This year, Nick has also returned to ACMi Sports to expand his skill set as a Producer, and it’s been going very well indeed. Check out our recent interview with Nick to hear more.
