Everyone is welcome!

Why:
1. We want to support the efforts of the Arlington Green Teams and the demands of Thompson Green Team graduates who are calling for Massachusetts leaders and voters to “Declare a State Climate Emergency, Back the Green New Deal, Sign the Fossil Fuel Free Pledge, Integrate Sustainability Project Based Learning in All Public K-12 Schools, Ban Polystyrene and Single Use Plastic State-Wide, Create Industrial Composting, Recycling and Renewable Energy Systems in every School, Town and State Building, Enact Effective State Regulations to Protect our Water, Air and Soil from Pollution and Zero Carbon Society.”
2. We want to support Massachusetts student activists who are organizing the climate strikes and calling for the ‘passage of environmental justice bills for a fair and just future.’
3. We wish to make a clear statement to our lawmakers that insufficient action on climate change is not an option. Lawmakers and presidential candidates must be prepared to institute bold comprehensive climate legislation to preserve a livable climate for the next generation.
4. During UN Climate Conference, COP 25, we wish to send the bold message to world leaders that they must be prepared to work together to rapidly transition the global community to just, sustainable societies.
5. We want a critical mass of Arlington residents to visibly show our level of care and commitment to climate action, given the great significance of this particular moment, as “we are the first generation(s) to feel the effect of climate change and the last generation(s) who can do something about it.”
