The town of Arlington is opening up a dialogue with its residents regarding race, racial equity, and systemic inequality. This, of course, come in wake of the unjustifiable death of George Floyd on May 25th in Minneapolis. That was a the hands of a police officer who has now been charged with second degree murder.
An area rally called Arlington Activates was held earlier this week and it drew more than 300 people to town hall. It featured several speakers. Among them, students of color from Arlington High School. The topic was racial inequality that they see in their everyday existence. And after what the world has seen since George Floyd’s death once month ago, they say it’s time for solution and that enough is enough.
