March 26th marks the one-year anniversary of the Red Letter Poems Project. The project, initiated by the town’s poet laureate, Steven Ratiner, shares original poetry from Arlington and beyond by posting those poems on the platforms of a number of community partners with ties to the arts. Although it was originally conceived as a project in which poems would be mailed in red envelopes to random households throughout the town, the pandemic shifted the focus to electronic platforms. Happily, Ratiner discovered that this move opened the project to a global audience. He spoke with Senior News Producer, Anim Osmani, about that and other aspects of the project.
