In collaboration with Michael Armanious, Arlington Public News has been discussing education and the effect technological advances can have on learning. Already, the internet and mobile technology have transformed the landscape of education access, both locally and globally.  Students can now gain degrees and complete courses online outside of traditional “brick and mortar” institutions.  New tools can empower individuals who may be restricted from attending a university or who can not afford the rising cost of tuition.

APN has also discussed the importance of traditional studies and subjects, such as the area of history, which is often devalued along with other liberal arts curriculum. We spoke with historian David McCullough about the ways teachers and educators can breath life into the subject matter and inspire students through the teaching of history.
This series has been created in preparation for a broader project on education by Michael Armanious.
