ACMi receives $7 per month, per household cable subscription.
Every year, people cut their cable.
Bottom line?
We can’t continue to do our work without your help.
Ways to support us:
*Please note on your check or online donation if your payment is directed for donation, membership dues, or workshop.
For more than a dozen years, ACMi has embedded itself in the Arlington community – providing vital coverage of government deliberations and decisions that affect everyone, hands-on instruction to Arlingtonians of all ages in every aspect of video production, and a showcase for the wealth of creative expression our residents conjure up! From our coverage of school sports and performances, to our award winning hyperlocal news program, we have you covered Arlington.
Your gift in any amount will ensure that ACMi can continue to thrive – informing, educating, entertaining, and stimulating the residents of Arlington and beyond.
ACMi, like most community media centers, is funded primarily by a surcharge on the cable bill of Arlington cable subscribers. With more and more people dropping their cable subscriptions in favor of streaming services and apps, we are rapidly losing a major source of capital needed to continue to serve our community.
Our members can use our studio or borrow our equipment to create documentaries, short films, episodic programs, or anything they can imagine. We also have a professional podcasting/vodcasting setup. If you’ve never held a camera, used Adobe Premiere, or seen the inside of a TV studio, we’ll teach you through one-on-one training, allowing you to proceed at your own pace and learn exactly what you want.
We have two overriding missions at ACMi – educating anyone who lives or works in Arlington in any aspect of video production as described above; and serving our community in any way we can. We connect residents to each other and to vital services available to them, we ensure that the deliberations and decisions of our town government remain transparent, and we enable individuals to exercise their First Amendment rights and their deep creative impulses.
Your support makes OUR support of our community possible.
Arlington Community Media is dedicated to providing an electronic forum for the free exchange of information and ideas which reflect the talents, skills, interests, concerns, and diversity of the Arlington community.
Learn new skills by enrolling in a workshop, connect with others by joining a crew, and make your next TV show by requesting equipment and studio time.
