Here are just a few ways you can get involved with creating media yourself here at ACMi! We provide access to equipment, training, and hands-on experience in television production to Arlington’s residents, students, organizations and town government agencies. Sign up to become a member or reach out to us!
Become a part of our crew call, and help staff and ACMi member producers on group productions. There’s always something to get involved with – from special events to government meetings, from Town Day and other community events to arts performances of all types. And it’s a great way to learn and make new friends!
From Green Teams in the elementary schools, to the Ottoson Media Group, to a number of different production groups operating in the high school, there are many opportunities for Arlington’s youth to make TV! Join to volunteer, learn video production skills, make new friends, create your own film…
We also collaborate with AHS music technology classes, provide extensive coverage of high school sports, and film school performances and musicals – and you are welcome to join us for any and all of those projects!
Our youth crew provide extensive coverage of AHS sports games, including football, hockey, basketball, and more. We are always looking for help, so please reach out to us at email@example.com to get involved in filming a game!
ACMi endeavors to inspire and support local filmmakers through ongoing filmmaking workshops, equipment access, and a community of producers. The ATown Teen Film Festival is held annually to celebrate young filmmakers. We also work closely with the Arlington International Film Festival, participate in Crowdsourced Boston, and have taken part in the 48-Hour Film Festival in the past.
The ACMi News program relies on interns and citizen journalists to produce weekly, locally focused news. Contact firstname.lastname@example.org if you’d like to become a citizen journalist!
When we are able to, ACMi provides a diverse range of workshops to our members. Learn more about our available workshops here (link to 6.5). You can always contact us with a request for a workshop or for one-on-one training.
ACMi always offers internships to those interested in getting an in-depth, hands-on experience in television production. The majority of our interns come from nearby colleges, but we are always open to those outside that realm. Check our internship page for detailed info.
