Felix Mendelssohn’s Violin Concerto in E minor, Op. 64, is his last large orchestral work. It forms an important part of the violin repertoire and is one of the most popular and most frequently performed violin concertos in history. The concerto is 175 years old this year. For this performance, the melody has been creatively adapted for the soprano saxophone by our featured guest artist, Bennett Parsons (AHS’14). Bennett has just completed his 5-year dual enrollment degree at Harvard University and New England Conservatory!
