On December 6th 2019 the Arlington Green Teams organized #BeOurHero Intergenerational Climate Lobby Workshop with our lawmakers: Representative Garballey and the staff of Representative Rogers and Senator Friedman. We learned everyone has a role to play in instituting bold, comprehensive climate legislation to address the climate crisis.
After discussing the climate legislation priorities of Mass Power Forward, a coalition of 200 environmental organizations in the state of Massachusetts, we hit the streets and joined the Boston Climate Strike for the International Youth-Led Climate Strikes that day. Small But Mighty Kids Change The World!
Mass Power Forward Legislative Priorities:
Environmental Justice – Include communities impacted by climate change and fossil fuel pollution as participants in crafting new, equitable policy
100% Renewable Energy – Set an ambitious goal to equitably reach 100% renewable electricity by 2035 and 100% renewable energy for heating and transportation by 2045
Equitable Investment in Green Infrastructure – Use mechanisms such as equitable carbon pricing or the transportation climate initiative to invest today to create the future we want
