The countdown is on.

Inspired by the recent Grammy Awards, Arlington teen film makers are hard at work. It might also be the lure of the cash prizes or simply their love of movie making that is inspiring them.

Whatever the reason, any Arlington teen (12 – 19) is encouraged to participate in the upcoming first annual A-Town Video Contest (www.atownteenvideo.org)

Here’s how it works. If you’ve got an idea for a short film (between 2 and 10 minutes), we want to see it! All types of subjects are welcome including experimental, animation, narrative, documentary, or anything else that you find interesting, compelling, or fun. Arlington subjects are preferred but not required and submissions can be works previously completed for a school assignment or other project.

The screening of selected entries and awards will take place at the Regent Theatre at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, March 21. Cash prizes will be awarded for Best Picture ($500), Runner Up ($250), Best Actor ($100), Best Actress ($100), and Crowd Favorite ($100).

Submittals must be received no later than Monday, March 3. Full contest details can be found at: www.atownteenvideo.org

So grab your director’s hat, start writing that script, get creative with your friends and family, and capture it on film. Then share your film with the world at the A-Town Teen Video Contest!

Good luck!
