ACMi Highlights of the Week–September 12

Arlington Town Day 2019 – September 14

It’s one of the biggest days of the year in Arlington, and it’s coming up this Saturday, September 14! The weather forecast looks promising, and all signs point to another festive, exciting Arlington Town Day. As always, ACMi will be there to provide live coverage of the day’s events and participants, broadcasting from our trademark booth on Mass Ave at Academy St, and our state-of-the-art studio in Town Hall. Don’t miss a minute of the festivities by tuning in to our Public channel from 10 am to 3 pm on Saturday! If you miss the celebration the first time, no worries – ACMi will continue to air Town Day 2019 in highly digestible segments throughout the coming weeks, again on the Public channel. And if you ARE at Town Day, please come visit us at our booth – we’ll be delighted to see you and share the many ways in which you too can make TV with us!

AHS Football Returns to ACMi

For many New Englanders, nothing says FALL like FootbALL! Whether it’s the NFL, or college, or high school, viewers anticipate the colors of the fall reflected in the colors of their favorite team, and in Arlington for many that is the distinctive maroon and white of Arlington High’s Spy Ponders. ACMi is delighted to confirm its continuing LIVE coverage of Spy Ponder Football this fall, beginning with the home opener on Friday. Our crack sports production team continues to set new standards for both the quality and the variety of elements in our broadcast – see for yourself! If you miss our live coverage of the game, you can always find it on our Education channel, where you will also find the rest of the Spy Ponders’ home games throughout the fall!

Return of an ACMi Favorite!

We are delighted to welcome Susan Carp and our friends at the Council on Aging back into the ACMi studio after an absence of more than a year. They are the folks behind “Living Out Loud,” one of the most popular and consistent programs on our Public channel over the last number of years. “Living Out Loud” is a weekly series that focuses on seniors and those who love and care for them, offering a broad range of valuable information, interviews with service providers of all sorts, and helpful suggestions around aging in the healthiest way. In the first installment of the new season, Susan talks about the importance of Senior Centers such as we have in Arlington, and she shares some of her favorite “keys to aging well.” Welcome back, Susan and the rest of the LOL team!
