Arlington Community Media, Inc. will be covering the upcoming Candidate’s Night held at Arlington Town Hall by the League of Women Voters LIVE on Tuesday, March 21st, 2017 at 8pm.
In advance of Town Elections coming up on April 1, the League of Women Voters chapter in Arlington once again welcomes all those vying for office to their annual Candidates’ Night. ACMi will carry this important event LIVE and will also air it on our Public channel between now and the election. Between this and ACMi’s own Candidate Profiles, you will have all the data you need to make a well-informed decision on Election Day. Find out what you want to know, and don’t forget to vote on April 1!
Candidates Night provides the community with an opportunity to learn about the candidates’ qualifications, their character, and their strengths and weaknesses.
Town Meeting candidates available from 7:30 to 8 pm; the candidates’ forum starts at 8.
Each candidate will present a 2-minute opening speech. After of all the candidates have spoken, they will answer questions presented by the moderator.
Cards will be available at the back of Town Hall for you to suggest questions to ask the candidates. The questions presented to the candidates will be selected by a non-partisan, three-member committee of members of the League of Women Voters of Arlington and Vision 2020 in accordance with the established procedure detailed in our official Policy on Screening Questions. None of the candidates will have prior knowledge of these questions before taking the stage.
