On Tuesday, December 16, a car crashed into the Arlington Heights Walgreens at 1425 Mass Ave, running over the Salvation Army Bell Ringer posted outside. The 50-year-old man was pinned under the car for several minutes, until the owner of nearby Antoine’s Auto Repair Shop used a car jack to lift the vehicle off the victim. Police report that the victim sustained injuries that were serious, but not life-threatening. We spoke with Antoine’s owner Tony Jammal about how events unfolded on that shocking day.
