Wide Angle: Episode 33 – Animal Welfare | Animal Rights

We humans have shared our lives as well as the planet, in varying degrees, with non-human animals for millenia. Today, almost 70% of all US households–just over 82 million homes–include a companion animal, more widely referred to as “pets.” But what do we really think about “(hu)man’s best friend,” and his fellow creatures?
Joining Peter to explore such questions is DJ Schubert, a wildlife biologist at the Animal Welfare Institute. Prior to landing at the AWI, he worked with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals and The Fund for Animals.
