Zip Trips 2016

Fox25’s morning show stopped in Arlington, MA for the first installment of this summer’s ‘Zip Trips.’ Now in its thirteenth season, Zip Trips offer fans a chance to get in on the action as their favorite morning news personalities shoot their show live in communities all across the commonwealth. Over the years, these public shoots have grown in popularity. Whereas in its first season the Fox25 production consisted of one anchor, a few fans and a single camera, Zip Trips now offer excitement and activities for the whole family. In Arlington, hundreds of residents turned out to Spy Pond Field to watch the anchors they so often share their mornings with. Several dozen sponsors set up tents that ringed the production area, providing fans the opportunity to learn valuable information about the businesses and nonprofits in Arlington and beyond. These sponsors also offered fans the chance to try their hand at various raffles and games of chance. Local personalities got a chance to be featured on live television. Town Manager Adam Chapdelaine sat down with the Fox25 crew to kick off the morning and more Arlingtonians soon followed. The Arlington Padres youth baseball team was featured and the Alton Street Dance Co. dancers had the chance to perform live on camera. Arlington Police Chief Fred Ryan was awarded the ‘Hometown Hero Award’ for his contributions to the town and community.
