Sara Fernandes Burd has been appointed Arlington’s new Director of Guidance and Social Emotional Learning (SEL). Her role in the public school system is to make sure we measure our students’ education in terms of social and emotional progress as well as academic progress. Sara spoke to Talk of the Town about the potentially transformative role of SEL in the Arlington community- not only for our students, but for our teachers and families as well.
