A little while back, we wrote to ask for letters of support as part of the Ascertainment Report we need to produce once every ten years to affirm our importance to the Arlington community and secure ongoing funding from the cable providers that operate in town (Astound, Comcast, and Verizon).
We were truly moved and profoundly inspired by the letters we received that speak to both the breadth and the depth of ACMi’s impact in the community, and the esteem in which we are held. We want to express our deepest gratitude to those of you who sent those messages in – they form perhaps the most important single component of the Ascertainment Report we have just published and provided to the cable providers and decision-makers in town.
We have just one remaining ask of you, our friends and supporters. There is a hearing at the Select Board meeting on Monday, August 10 at which the issue of Ascertainment will be addressed. It would be enormously helpful (as well as heartening!) to have a core of supporters in attendance, as it would be the best visual testament to accompany what we describe in the Ascertainment Report.
There are several items ahead of us on the Select Board agenda, so our best guess for what time we will be up is around 8 pm. If you can find you way to the Select Board chambers at Town Hall at that time, that would be wonderful – it would be a truly compelling argument to the cable providers that their ongoing funding of ACMi is something the community deeply cares about.
