For more than two decades, James McGough, the founder of the Cyrus Dallin Art Museum in Arlington, has been compiling testimonies and remembrances from those who knew the great sculpture personally. Over the course of 2023, ACMi News worked closely with Jim and the Dallin staff and trustees to bring these oral histories to life. A collection of Dallin’s descendents and friends of the Museum came to the ACMi studio over several months to read directly from the testimonies. ACMi’s Jeff Barnd and Jared Sweet added powerful visuals to accompany these oral histories, yielding more than 90 minutes of poignant, evocative portraits of Cyrus Dallin and his world.
