At the intersection of Mass Ave and Broadway stands a majestic monument dedicated to those Arlingtonians who fought in America’s Civil War.
It’s easily visible from either road, or from the shops that surround it and from the thousands of people who pass it everyday. But have you really taken a good look at it?
Michael Ruderman who is an ACMi board member and public historian recently gave a presentation on the monument at Arlington’s Masonic Temple. He says the pillar is an Arlington treasure that teaches us new things more than a century after it was built.
