Envision Arlington Planning Meeting

The first phase of the Envision Arlington planning process, focused on making Arlington Center more customer and pedestrian friendly, is now underway. The engineering firm of Vanasse Hangen Brustlin (VHB) is working with the Town to develop a conceptual design for the area. This conceptual design study will result in a scope of work for the reconstruction of Massachusetts Avenue in Arlington Center, from Pond Lane to Mill Street. The project will eventually involve reconstruction of the roadway and improvements to curbs, sidewalks, lighting, street trees, street furniture, and more in the project area. Analysis of traffic patterns and transit usage will also be conducted. Broadway Plaza will get special attention, as the Town looks for new ways to make the area more inviting and vibrant.

A second public meeting to discuss the project and get your input will be hosted by the Departments of Public Works and Planning and Community Development, and facilitated by VHB on:

– Thursday, June 16th, 2016

– Arlington Town Hall Auditorium,

The Town of Arlington is matching local funds with Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds, administered by the Department of Planning & Community Development, for these planning activities
