Fishing for Trash – An Angler’s Perspective


One month ago, ACMi News aired a story about discarded fishing gear. Monofilament lines, float, and hooks left at Arlington’s lush waterways and parks for someone else to pick-up. Or even worse.

Fishing gear hanging from trees, bushes and left on the waters edge can take up to six centuries to decompose. But long before that, this trash left behind can play havoc with our wildlife in Arlington. ACMi News director Jeff Barnd found some anglers willing to talk to us about this ongoing problem.
