This is a short documentary film about the Bibliotheca Alexandrina’s Antiquities Museum; which holds more than 1,200 historical pieces and artifacts some of which were discovered during the construction of the new building.at the selfsame location of the museum. The museum collections reflect the rich history of Egypt starting from the Pharaonic civilization, through the Greek, Roman, Coptic and Islamic civilizations. The film also highlights the different facilities of the Antiquities Museum such as its educational program, its digital and online database, and its website which provides virtual tours.
The film was produced by the Bibliotheca Alexandrina Studio Department in 17 minutes to be displayed in the closing session of the International Council of Museums (ICOM) international conference in the Library of Alexandria in October 2014, and in the presence of representatives of museums from all around the world.
