Studio B Sessions – Season 3 – Episode 3 – Kai Wilson

My name is Kai Wilson and I live in Malden, MA. I work in construction management full-time in the Seaport District of Boston. I have known how to play guitar for almost my whole life but, began to take it seriously over the past couple of years. I moved to Boston from New York after I graduated from Keene State College to begin working. I was offered a full-time job and moved almost immediately without any real knowledge of the area. Music was a savior for me living alone in a new city. Some of my original music stems from the hardships of living alone in unfamiliar territory. I am an outdoorsy guy. I love to fly fish, mountain bike, hike, and snowboard so living in the city makes these things difficult to access. But my guitar is always there. Some of my favorite artists are The Avett Brothers, Johnny Flynn, Mandolin Orange, and Jack Johnson. I started playing open mic nights in January of 2019 when my girlfriend pushed me to do it. Ever since then, I have met a lot of great people and have listened to a lot of great local artist who have inspired my playing and singing. I have enjoyed the process every step of the way and am grateful for the opportunities that have come from meeting such extraordinary and talented people.
