Wide Angle: Episode 19 – Japanese American Incarceration

Today’s Wide Angle falls under the heading, “Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.” For just as the Trump team attempts various iterations of a Muslim registry, we observe the 75th anniversary of one of this country’s darker hours: the internment of Japanese Americans after the bombing of Pearl Harbor and America’s entrance into World War II.
Helping Peter explore the Japanese American incarceration is Richard Cahan, a noted photo historian and former photo editor at the Chicago Sun-Times, as well as the co-author of the new book, Un-American: The Incarceration of Japanese Americans During World War II.
