What is the Animation Short Animation Festival?

The Arlington Short Animation Film Festival began in 2013 and with a short hiatus, we’re back for year 4!

The Arlington Short Animation Film Festival celebrates short animations of any style, showcasing local animated work for all ages.  All are welcome to submit!  Send us your animations, from a few seconds to 10 minutes!  We’re accepting all styles from stop motion, to hand drawn, GIFs and motion graphics.

How do I submit my animation?

Submit videos to Arlington Community Media, Inc :

(1) At the following address:

(2) Send your video electronically (i.e. through Google Drive, DropBox, etc) to animation@acmi.tv.

  • Submissions are due WEDNESDAY, JUNE 12, 2019 by 5:00PM
  • Digital HD .mov files are preferred, but most files other than .wmv will be considered.

Step 1. Shoot your video

There are many ways to film your animation!  We’ll be hosting workshops soon, so check back soon!  Or contact production@acmi.tv  to be the first to find out!

Step 2. Upload your video to YouTube

Log into YouTube using your Gmail account and upload your video.

Remember if you are adding music to your video, use license free music or obtain a release for use of music from the license holder.  The Arlington Short Animation Film Festival does reserve the right to trim a spontaneous video for time if it doesn’t disrupt the intended mission of the video.

Yes, but know that there will be many dogs there expecting you to share. Popcorn will be available for a requested donation.

There will be two portable toilets for humans (one is accessible).  Please be considerate and clean up after your pup, we know better than to limit the areas where the pups do their business.
