There’s a lot to look forward to at this time of year. Daylight Savings is this weekend, a sure indication that we’ve seen the last of the snow. Wishful thinking?!  Town elections are coming up. Another sign of the coming of spring.

If you’re a filmmaker, one event to put on your calendar and anticipate is the upcoming Rough Cut viewing and evaluation taking place on Sunday, March 9 from 3 – 5 p.m., at the Uniun Arts and Entertainment Center at 11 Sanborn Court in Somerville.

Rough Cut is a quarterly event hosted by Somerville Community Access Television (SCAT) aimed at connecting and inspiring budding creative media makers. It is a learning space for people from all walks of life from the amateur filmmaker to the experimentalist to screen writers.

Each attendee will fill out a short questionnaire during each screening and participants will give their feedback to help the producer better complete their project.

Additionally, after each screening, our guest film critics, including representatives from Arlington Community Media, Inc. (ACMi), will provide constructive criticism and insight.

Rough Cut is a free event and there will be snacks. What better way to get together will fellow filmmakers, discuss ideas, watch each other’s work, and get valuable feedback and insight from your peers. Don’t miss it!
