Will Arlington residents soon be belly-up up to a new bar in the Heights? The potential operator of a tavern which may occupy the old Balich building just cleared a hurdle this week with the Zoning Board of Appeals. If all goes smoothly we may soon be buying a drink with a 10 spot in what was an old 5 and Dime.

A Lynn man is indicted in a string of armed robberies in this area including a business that was hit in Arlington last year. ACMi News will have the latest on the case of 34 year old Ramfis Casado.

Hard to believe that four decades ago this week the USA hockey team, many of whom came from this area, average age 21, beat the Soviet Red Army at the Olympic Games in Lake Placid, NY. No argument that this was much more than a hockey game. Tonight we reflect on that “miracle.”
