Governor Charlie Baker is requesting a major disaster declaration from the Trump White House. A move that would unlock federal funding as Arlington and the rest of the state try to flatten the curve and stem the spread of the coronavirus. This, as area unemployment claims skyrocket as many businesses now grind to a halt and the economy hangs in the balance.
Meantime, town leaders now say that there are a dozen coronavirus cases in Arlington but because of the limited availability of tests, they believe this is not an accurate count of the actual spread of the virus in the Arlington community.
