Sexual assaults are deeply personal attacks that can be devastating to both victims and their families. On June 1st, a sexual assault occurred in Arlington. Although such events can occur anywhere, this episode has deeply affected our community. Without probing for details about this specific case, APN set out to provide information on the current crime rate in Arlington, as well as what resources are available to members of the community.
We spoke to Arlington Police Chief Frederick Ryan about what actions our law enforcement authorities take to prevent offenses such as this. We also contacted the Boston Area Rape Crisis Center to find out what resources are available to victims, families, and communities.
